So, yes, I am now a lady of leisure for the first time in my life. And what do ladies of leisure (expats) do in Bermuda? Well, many of them play golf. The best deal on the island is Tuesday morning at the Mid-Ocean Club where New Islanders and other expats gather for a golf clinic. Keith, the pro at Mid-Ocean, gives us each a couple of five minute lessons in driving and putting. I don't have clubs yet, so Keith lets me use a set of the Club's Pings for free. Eric is worried ("Learning on Pings, are we?) that I am going to want Pings when I get my own set of clubs.

The two hour golf clinic is followed by coffee, tea, and muffins or cookies in the clubhouse...all for $10 per person. An amazing deal!

One recent rainy, chilly and windy Tuesday many of us stayed home from golf, only to discover that Michael Douglas had been at the Club and the few golf ladies who had been there had their picture taken with him. Arrgghh! That will teach me to wimp out!

Abby is on vacation, so she went with me last week to golf clinic. I expect that Eric and I ought to augment her "therapy trust fund" now that I've introduced her to the "joys" of golf.
